One member of our forum has gotten a message which says that Tapatalk is moving to a subscription-only model "allowing us to share revenue with forum owners."
I really, really, really hope that this is not what it seems to be, a model where members cannot read messages or take part in discussions for free.
We are running a forum for gender variant people and I know that very few of them will be willing to share credit card info with tapatalk, as this will expose their real names.
I see that the fees are relatively low. The numbers I have are in Norwegian kroner, and I suppose most should be able to pay around 10 dollars a month, although I also know that many will find even that amount too much. Still, I see that a lot of members sign up in order to test the waters so to speak, and they will not do this if they have to pay.
We did not put up this forum in order to earn money. I am in fact willing to pay tapatalk in order to keep the forum open and free, because if the service becomes subscription only our forum will die. I have been through the process of moving the forum from one platform to the other once, and I don't think we can survive another one.

At the end of the subscription period, your subscription automatically renews. Unless canceled 24 hours before the current subscription period, your Apple ID account will be charged the monthly subscription rate. Subscription Prices are: 1 month - 11,00 kr, 1 year - 115,00 kr. After purchase, you can manage and/or cancel your subscription by going to your account settings on your iOS device.
