Tapatalk Groups • Logging in with forum ID

I have a forum that was migrated from SMF not too long ago, and I have users telling me they can’t log in. These are users who are only returning just now after a few years. It used to allow users to log in with their legacy forum ID’s, but even now when I reset the password for one of the users in ACP and try and log in as them, I can’t log in. This used to work fine. Did something change? How can legacy forum users log in as they had in the past, or at least be promoted to link a Tapatalk ID after successfully logging in?
